Human Trafficking in an Era of Globalization:Forced Labor, Involuntary Servitude, and Corporate & Civic Responsibility
The University of Washington (UW) Women's Center, UW School of Law, and Seattle University School of Law are hosting a two-day conference to examine the root causes of the human trafficking industry and develop strategies to work towards not only preventing, but also eradicating the trade. The program will expand the discourse around the issue to encompass the true scope of the problem, including the many forms of forced labor, and it seeks to connect the dots between the push-pull levers of the industry. Program highlights for the conference include: Forced Migration & Labor Rights; International Trade Agreements; Human Rights; Public Health; Improving Human Trafficking Survivor Services; Ethical Sourcing & Sustainable Development; and Humanizing the Impacts of Human Trafficking.
